I placed my first order with Allstarhealth and it was over $100. qualifying it for free shipping which is nice. I recently moved to a rural address. The USPS does not deliver here and had not yet assigned a location on a main road on which to place my mailbox to receive package delivery notices. The post office advised me to have packages that were sent by USPS addressed to me C/O General Delivery at the local post office. UPS and Fed-Ex, however, do deliver to this rural address. The notice on the checkout page of the Allstar website states that they use different carriers including the USPS. The checkout shipping choices do not include an option to choose a specific carrier unless you are paying for a particular shipping service such as "next day air" or "priority mail". I wasn't going to pay for a particular shipping company and service as, why should I if my order qualified for free shipping? As it was not specified which service my free shipment would go by, I CALLED ALLSTAR AND ASKED THEM WHICH SHIPPER IT WOULD GO BY BEFORE FILLING IN A SHIPPING ADDRESS, AS WITHOUT KNOWING THE EXACT SHIPPER, I DID NOT KNOW WHICH ADDRESS TO PUT ON MY ORDER, the General Delivery for USPS delivery, my street address for UPS or Fed-Ex delivery or my friend's non-rural address for a 'who knows what delivery service it will be". The person I spoke to at Allstar told me it would be sent by USPS, so I put the general delivery address as I had been instructed by the post office to do. Well, don't you know, Allstar sent it with some lesser-known (unknown to me) delivery company and there were charges. The post office would not give me the package unless I paid the 19.00 for the delivery by the "unknown" company. I feel that this is the fault of Allstar for telling me the USPS would be the carrier when, apparently, in reality, they did not know who they would send it with. Had they told me when I called to verify a carrier that it would or even could be sent by "we do not know", I would have, obviously, used my friend's non-rural address instead of the post office C/O General Delivery. I do not automatically use my friend's address as I don't want to overwhelm them with daily packages and when you first move in, there are many things needed to be ordered. That is why I called to ask Allstar who the shipper would be.Allstar won't reimburse me for the shipping charge that was incurred due to their giving me the wrong information. They are blaming me, implying that I was confused snd misunderstood the website and or the employee on the phone. I did not misunderstand. I was told by their employee it would be shipped USPS and that is not confusing at all. I am not happy about their failure to take responsibility for their employee's misinformation and I won't be ordering again from them.
