While my vehicle was being repaired at the collision center, the insurance provider of the driver who hit me offered either a rental car or the option to use rideshare services, with a daily limit on the ride costs. I opted for rideshare twice to get to and from the shop when my vehicle was ready for pickup. As is customary in the service industry, I tipped the drivers. However, after submitting my receipts, I was informed that tipping is not covered. I expressed my concern, noting that tips are part of the service fee for rides. By choosing rideshare over a rental car, I saved the insurer a significant amount. If they refuse to reimburse the modest tipping fees, they risk losing a customer for life and facing negative feedback online. All this to save a mere seven dollars? Perhaps they should reconsider their motto.
