Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service and Communication

A salesman came to my door offering windows and doors in my area. He was quite pushy and clearly focused on closing the sale rather than listening to what I actually needed. I was told scaffolding would be required for the back upstairs window, and that the entire installation would be completed in one day. I ordered a total of 5 windows and a pair of french doors.A couple of weeks later, the surveyor came to measure up and confirmed that scaffolding would indeed be needed.Unfortunately, I had to go in for knee replacement surgery at short notice, just two days before the installation was due. I called to reschedule and was told the only alternative was to move it to Sunday of that week — otherwise, I would be charged 50% of the total cost up front. I found this extremely unreasonable, especially considering the circumstances.Come Sunday, the installers never showed up. I waited in all day but couldn’t even call them, as their phone lines only operate Monday to Friday. I finally received a call the next morning with an apology, saying the fitter had a last-minute emergency. I was rebooked for the following Saturday. When they arrived, there was no scaffolding (despite earlier confirmations), and they used dirty dust sheets. They managed to install two windows and the French doors, but one glass unit was broken and took three weeks to replace. They also ripped plaster off the wall during removal of the old doors and said they couldn’t finish because of rain.I had to wait until Monday to book another date, and they came the next Saturday. They finished the French doors and installed two more windows. To cover the damaged plaster, they simply stuck a PVC board over it. They again didn’t have scaffolding for the large upstairs window, and as this time the fitter was alone, he couldn’t lift it alone, so we had to wait again.I had to wait yet again, and when I followed up about the scaffolding, I was repeatedly told it wasn’t needed — clearly an attempt to cut corners and save money. When they finally turned up the following Wednesday, there was still no scaffolding. The window was so large that we had to help lift it — even though I had just had knee surgery! At the end, I was told I needed to pay immediately or they wouldn’t leave.During this entire process, no one ever called me to reschedule; I always had to chase them. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times and was told they were “in a meeting.” To this day, I’ve still not received a call back. Communication was terrible throughout. There were no apologies for the repeated delays, the work was sloppy, and there was no respect shown for my property — my new carpet ended up with black marks on it despite me putting dust sheets down myself. This company clearly relies on aggressive sales tactics and cuts corners to maximise profit, regardless of customer experience. I absolutely would not recommend them and will never use them again. They do not deserve business with the way they treat their customers.
