We had a confirmed car rental reservation through a well-known booking platform. Our flight from New Zealand was delayed, and despite numerous attempts to reach the service provider, no one picked up. We had provided our flight details and contact information at the time of booking. Upon arriving at the airport around 9:30 pm, we discovered that the office had closed at 9:00 pm. We were left without any transport and had to arrange last-minute accommodation and cover Uber costs. The following morning, we were informed over the phone that we could still pick up the car. However, when we arrived in person, we were told that our reservation had been canceled the night before without any notification. The staff claimed they did not have our contact details, which was puzzling since the booking was made through a reputable platform. As a result, we were without a car, incurred over $800 in expenses, and had to secure another rental at double the cost. This was a highly disappointing and stressful beginning to a holiday planned months in advance. I would not recommend this car rental service due to poor communication, lack of accountability, and unacceptable customer support.
