Extremely fast check in and check out process at Tullamarine. Friendly and helpful staff. Only issue was waiting a long time for the shuttle bus from airport as the signage wasn’t clear on shuttle bus.
Rental as well as booking process was quick, cheap, intuitive and hassle free. Truck was almost new and in excellent condition. Have rented moving trucks from Alpha Car Hire multiple times and each time have had the same 5 star rental experience. Will definitely use them again in future.
Pick up and drop off was smooth. Staff was helpful and courteous. Condition of the car was not that great, could hear gear shifting noise on low speeds as well as bearing or tire noise on the highway. Overall happy with the rental as we did not run into any problems and managed our trip safely.
While driving, my car was hit by another vehicle. I had a third-party insurance policy, but I lost out on my claim due to a one-month deadline. The support team was unresponsive and did not return my funds. Communication was extremely lacking.
We had a confirmed car rental reservation through a well-known booking platform. Our flight from New Zealand was delayed, and despite numerous attempts to reach the service provider, no one picked up. We had provided our flight details and contact information at the time of booking. Upon arriving at the airport around 9:30 pm, we discovered that the office had closed at 9:00 pm. We were left without any transport and had to arrange last-minute accommodation and cover Uber costs. The following morning, we were informed over the phone that we could still pick up the car. However, when we arrived in person, we were told that our reservation had been canceled the night before without any notification. The staff claimed they did not have our contact details, which was puzzling since the booking was made through a reputable platform. As a result, we were without a car, incurred over $800 in expenses, and had to secure another rental at double the cost. This was a highly disappointing and stressful beginning to a holiday planned months in advance. I would not recommend this car rental service due to poor communication, lack of accountability, and unacceptable customer support.

The supervisor stated he would consult with the manager, but returned saying I still needed to pay an additional $125. When I asked to speak with the manager, the supervisor claimed he had already left. This felt like a direct lie, raising doubts about the integrity of the company, especially when senior staff are not truthful. Ultimately, I had no choice but to pay the extra amount to receive the car. Moreover, the promised pick-up time from the airport was 5 to 20 minutes, but they showed up 35 minutes late. This feels like a scam; I do not recommend using this service.
