I ordered a phone on Amazon, and when there was an issue with it, I received a refund. Foolishly, I requested that the money be placed on an Amazon gift card. This was a major mistake. They canceled my gift card and deducted the refund from it, leaving me without my money. I was told the specialist team was investigating and that I could expect a resolution within 24 hours. Three weeks later, I am still waiting for this promised response. Amazon's complaints system is nonexistent, and their escalation process simply involves waiting another 24 hours. In reality, Amazon has stolen my money and refuses to return it. Do not ever have your refund issued to an Amazon Gift card.
