Been a customer since 2013, needed to put a large payment through to book a holiday. Called to request a small increase to my credit limit to facilitate the payment, which was rejected. Raised a complaint, a smug, patronising representative from the complaints department rang me and said “we won’t be able to give you a credit increase” without being able to provide a reason, however by then I didn’t need one! I use my Platinum AMEX for everything, I put tens of thousands of pounds a year on that card and pay it in full every month, yet when I ask for a small increase, rejected. Thanks for nothing AMEX, you have alienated me as a customer and I won’t forget that.
