American Hartford Gold is a corrupt company that engages in fraud. In December 2021, I contacted AHG about rolling my IRA at Fidelity to a precious metals IRA. The salesman I talked with seemed very nice and trustworthy. I trusted him to give me advice that would be the best for my investment future. He recommended that I buy silver Rose Crown Guinea and Australian Wildlife coins. He told me they were limited production and would appreciate more than other coins like Eagles and Maple Leafs. I questioned him on why they were so much more expensive and so much higher than spot prices. Again, he assured me that they would perform better for me than Eagles and Maple Leafs. Last December 2025, I needed to take my first required IRA Distribution. That is when I learned that I had been scammed.
When the salesman Machi at American Hartford Gold told me the liquidation values for those coins I was shocked. They were worth less than Eagles or Maple Leafs. I began researching and calling other dealers where I was told American Hartford Gold is involved in criminal activity taking advantage of older people that are not knowledgeable about precious metals. I was told by some of the dealers I called that those coins they recommended were only worth melt value. I have learned that I was charged a premium of 79% over spot for those coins which is dramatically higher than typical pricing. The total premiums I paid were $35,141 on a $100,000 investment. Since I was charged such a high premium on coins that were not worth more than other bullion, I have at least a $94,091 loss. This is because I could have purchased 665 more ounces of silver and 5 more ounces of gold at fair premiums.

I have tried to get some kind of compensation for the loss, but all I get are games like I will look into it, I will call you back, the back office is working on it, etc. I sent at least 20 emails and made numerous calls to American Hartford Gold, but I have been unable to get any compensation for my loss. ADVICE: Do not trust or believe American Hartford Gold. They lie! Research many precious metals dealers. Watch videos on scams by precious metals dealers. Do not buy limited edition, limited production or any collectible type coins. Buy Maple Leafs or American Eagles. Do. not trust celebrity endorsements. They get paid for putting their name on it. Two dealers I have learned that are trustworthy are Battalion Metals and Miles Franklin. Now, AHG isn't replying to my emails or phone calls.
