I purchased this as a gift for my elderly Father who didn’t understand auto renewal and I wasn’t aware it was auto renew at time of purchase. Ancestry was extremely difficult to use as you still have to have ancestors names so we were stumped very quickly and the family gave up. The subscription rolled over at the highest premium price and I didn’t notice. (Our family had multiple serious medical issues that year we had to handle while working full time). That was 2020 that I called to cancel. Then in April 2022 I noticed it AGAIN on a credit card statement for Jan 2022. I called again to cancel and received an email. I called again just now to ensure it was cancelled and feel I was entitled to some sort of refund. They had no record of previous cancellations and only offered me a $33 refund because it was set to renew in January. Please note that I was charged $338 last January - which is $100 higher than any other option on their web site right now. They claim that they can’t see that nobody has logged in for 3 years. I spent $1000 on NOTHING. Save your money unless you are a genealogist charging people for your services. it also says once unsubscribed - no more access to your family tree. This is WAY overpriced for already having documents/records established letting us the customer do ALL of the work. Very disappointed and will never use or recommend this service to anyone.
