I thought this would be really interesting, but it’s taking forever. I received it as a Christmas present and sent my sample off over the holidays. Since then, I’ve had endless emails saying, “We’ve received your sample,” “We’re preparing your sample,” and “We’re processing your sample.” At this rate, I’ll be a long-lost ancestor myself before the results finally arrive!

Slow and inaccurate, the first package was lost in transit, and I waited for almost half a year. Then it was a hassle to get a replacement through the horrible AI chatbot, but once I got redirected to a human, it was relatively quick. And the ancestry is very inaccurate and has no historical data, only modern populations. For example, a lot of Spanish and Italian people have a bit of North African ancestry, but it will not show up because it is the norm in modern southern populations. Also, there is no info on migration paths or anything useful. Basically, it is as accurate as if you asked somebody where you’re from. It can only broadly assess the continent and is basically pseudoscientific. I registered I registered my second kit on January 26, and the results haven’t arrived yet. The website says it will arrive on April 6th, which is a ridiculous wait time again. Not recommended.

Ancestry DNA? Absolute bullshit. This isn't science. It's a marketing scam built on nothing but guesswork and cheap data manipulation.
Their database is almost entirely white genetics, so if you're not European, get ready for vague ass results that mean absolutely nothing. They talk about sentimorgans and shared segments, like that proves lineage, but that's just pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo. They can't even verify your history if your ancestors' records got destroyed during slavery, and then they have the nerve to romanticize slavery in their marketing.
Talk about insulting. Anyone who thinks these companies actually know anything about their genealogy is pathetic, because what they're selling is wishful thinking dress up as science.

Good this for my son who wanted to know about his heritage. He got a lot of information on his mother side who are from the Midwest of America but on his father side who were from Ireland. He got absolutely no information. I sent an email to ancestry.com about that and they never got back to me. Took way to long to get the DNA results back also, they kept changing the date when we get the results.

Ancestry did what they did with the DNA I provided. I'm just a bit surprised. Of course, the majority of my origins are European but I'm a little surprised as nothing showed up American in the results. My great-great grandmother was half Blackfoot Indian, and her mother was full-blooded Blackfoot. One would think there might be a trace amount in my DNA. Maybe not.

I thought that what I bought would give me more in-depth information which it did not. Everything else is additional dollars. It does not take into account my son, David U. Salazar, only my father. It was ok but not what I expected at all. Thought it would give more information for what I paid for not add everything else as extra.

I paid for everything you a 3 month membership and just did not pay for expedited labs and now we have reached the end of my initial 3 months and they want me to reup but I still have no DNA data. The b membership is pointless without having DNA to work with. Site i could add details of i had it or save photos to memories but that's pointless to me, I have Facebook for that. I want to learn about the DNA. I'm not hapoy and I hope that changes whenever they can figure out how to mom at the DNA and upload the data. I guess I'll buy another 3 months since I have no data to do anything with.

I was disappointed in the way the results have been presented as grouping Northern Ireland and Central Scotland together does not provide me with an accurate measurement of my Scottish heritage.

Overall, Ancestry has been excellent in my research on my family tree, and even solving a genealogical mystery with the use of the DNA test information, too! Highly recommended!
