I don’t even know where to start with AncestryDNA, but I do know this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve paid for in a long time.

I sent my sample in February. After multiple delays and being told to wait an extra 2 to 3 weeks… April comes, and suddenly my DNA “can’t be analyzed.” No real explanation, no accountability. Just “send another sample and start over.” So now I’m looking at waiting ANOTHER 2 to 3 months like my time means nothing.

The worst part? I paid FULL PRICE. Meanwhile, people I know who bought their kits during a sale had smooth, quick results. Make that make sense.

I chose Ancestry because I have family who used it and I wanted to feel connected and learn more about where I come from. Instead, I feel like I’ve been put on the back burner with zero urgency or care.

This process is inconsistent, slow, and honestly feels like a gamble. For something this personal and this expensive, that’s unacceptable.

I would not recommend AncestryDNA based on my experience. If you’re considering it, just know you might be waiting months with no answers and no real support.

Extremely disappointing.
