I bought a haute weel for my dog. We call it the Maserati because actually it's the best wheel chair for dogs ever seen and ever experienced. It gives the best experience to my dog who's able to explore everywhere she wants now without harming her self. It's probably the best purchase I ever did and surely it's worth every single penny! It changed her life but also mine for the better. Thank you to this company because I can tell is very high quality. Even the customer care was very fast and helpful. I feel so greatful
My Pit bull suffered a complete rupture of his cruciate ligament (ACL) and at the advice of his Veterinarian I set out to obtain a brace to help him heal. She did not recommend Animal Ortho, she actually recommended a much cheaper brand. But trying to be a good caregiver I wanted the "best" for my dog, Animal Ortho seemed to offer that with their nice website, Vet recommendations and good reviews. However upon receiving the brace it didn't fit, it would slide off after he took two steps. I assumed this was my fault in not providing them with a good enough casting, so at my expense I submitted another casting. The brace that came after that stayed on for about 5 steps, an improvement yes, but my dog takes more than 5 steps when we walk. I reached out to Animal Ortho, and for FIVE months I went back and forth with them trying to prove that I was properly putting on the brace, videos of measurment, multiple approaches of brace application, my dog standing and walking were requested and still the brace does not fit correctly. By this time I was well out of the return window, so I just had to sit with it. It was an very frustrating experience, which is why I'm here hoping to save any other Pit owners from the same dissapointment, frustration and stress I went through. The problem is that Pit legs are muscular, muscles have contours and AOC Pet simply doesn't have the ability to match those contours when building the brace, even with a casting/molding of the leg in question. It is unscrupulous of them to give no warnings or mentions of this issue. My recommendation is to contact a Veterinary Physical Therapist, that's what I did and she referred me to someone who fits the dog for the brace themselves in person, she told me not to let him wear the AOC Pet brace as the incorrect fit may cause pain or make things worse. However you proceed I wish you the best of luck in helping your animal heal.
