Recently had our dog in and diagnosed…

Recently had our dog in and diagnosed with Heart failure, Animal Trust Bolton give us the opportunity of giving him some extra time with us after admitting him and and getting rid of the fluid build up. He was originally admitted for 2 days this cost £589 as standard but includes all treatment, he responded well and we picked him up the following day with 3 types of monthly tablets this cost an extra £100.38 so in total £689.38 paid. Check up 2wks after vet happy him but obviously he's not going to improve but he's got some quality until the inevitable. We mentioned to the vet that we can get the medication cheaper online in fact less than half the cost and he agreed, although he did say Furosemide, they could be competitive. I asked if he could do a repeat prescription so we could buy online which he said it would be a 2 monthly and cost about £17/£18. I have just phoned Bolton today and been told the policy is £17.50per prescription"Meds not included just the paper so we can buy elsewhere "so that's £52.50 and would be a monthly cost for writing them up. If I buy from them it costs monthly : Furosemide £21.12 @60 tablets (online £4.20).Cardisure £40.62 @ 60 tablets (Online £22.20).Cardalis £38.64@30 tablets (Online £18.19).So Animal Trust = £103.89.Online = £44.59.Yet by charging £17. 50per item for the prescriptions, Animal Trust make sure it's not that cost effective to buy elsewhere. We are shocked and upset that a company that states not for profit clearly do and I'd have thought that the statement they make would try and help there customers not hinder and put them under pressure to make heart-felt decisions, more so in what's happened to this country in nearly 2yrs.Come on Animal Trust stick to your word not hidden policies and profit, please explain why you need to charge 3 separate £17.50 for 3 items that our dog needs to survive the few months he may have left. PS: I don't normally write reviews especially negative ones, but we've spent thousands over the last few years on our animal's and we're retired on low income but they come 1st and are family so what do you do? Sorry about the review & we were happy with the service but I am extremely upset and disappointed in my latest contact & the fact that the prescription charge questions the not for profit and understanding of customers needs. RegardsPeteNote: When you reply to the explanation of 3 separate £17.50per item charge and not for profit, could you just explain the reason for the 3 separate prescription requests & charges breakdown for the 3 pieces of paper as I presume its just the 1 Vet writing it up and not 3 Vets🤔.
