The first incident occurred yesterday when my elderly father was notified that his package would be delivered yesterday. The package never arrived and both myself and my father were at home all day yesterday. I eventually checked the tracking number and discovered for some unknown reason the postman had delivered the package to a local shop?! Had I not checked the tracking number I never would have known this, as no email or text was received letting us know where it was! The cherry on top of the cake is the postman delivered an entirely different package the same day but never rang the doorbell just left it on the step. I then received an email yesterday to say an entirely different package (for myself) would be delivered today, today when I check tracking my package history has entirely disappeared. I got onto the live chat after waiting 20+ minutes for the customer service agent Sean M. to tell me that just because an post emails me that a package is coming the next working day doesn’t mean it’s going to be delivered the next working day and that my package might be delivered next week sometime. When I tried to reply to his message (I was mid-typing) he ended the chat. Both of these instances are an absolute disgrace and show how little a post are actually willing to provide the service they are hired to do (despite upping the cost of admin fees). If you can avoid An Post do, they can’t fulfill their service anymore.
