As a member, I have the privilege of bringing a guest with a complimentary pass, but today the only staff member present, the "Area Manager," flatly denied my son this benefit. I had to inquire about his identity since I had never encountered him before. My son, a professional musician visiting family, is a regular gym-goer, and I thought it would be great for him to join me for a day. We had previously discussed him purchasing a weekly pass. Despite a sign advertising free one-day sessions, he insisted we pay instead. When I questioned the £15 charge for a day pass, he became rude. I had spoken to another team member days earlier who mentioned a weekly pass for £50, but the Area Manager claimed it didn't exist, which I found puzzling. His intimidating glare when I questioned this left me uncomfortable, so we chose to leave. It seemed he dismissed my son's visit since he was only looking for a short-term membership. His refusal to honor my contract terms regarding the day pass is disappointing. I've since canceled my membership, which was about to renew, resulting in a loss of £456 in potential revenue for the club, alongside the £50 for my son's week-long visit. It's unfortunate that this staff member reflects poorly on the otherwise friendly and accommodating team at the facility.
