Prior to picking up the car I was assured by two different people from the reservation centre that I was eligible for a further 10% Gold Card discount even though I had the complimentary car insurance and at least one of them noted this on my reservation but despite many phone calls later they refuse to honour this 10% discount. Customer service has been very poor:*Apex has not honoured the Gold Card discount discount that two employees from the help desk said I could have.*I contacted the help desk four times until I finally got someone to talk to. The previous three time I left my contact number to call me back - No-one did.*The manager at the Auckland pick-up was very abrupt when I spoke to her and she said that she would email me the clause that said no further discount would be given. She did not email me as promised.I'll be the first to admit that I don't hire many rental cars but those that I do I have always used Apex because (I thought) customer service was top notch and I always try to support NZ businesses.Not anymore - the Apex customer service leaves much to be desired and I might as well go to the likes of Budget or Hertz. At least I expect poor service from them so I won't be disappointed.
