I had a frustrating encounter at the ATM in Viborg last night while trying to withdraw cash as a visitor. I thought having some local currency would be useful. After inserting my card, the ATM showed a "Temporarily out of service" message, and my card was not returned. The screen returned to normal after three minutes. A lady behind me had better luck with her card but only received a receipt, not cash. I reached out to customer service, but they couldn’t assist until the next morning. When I called again today, I was told to visit the branch for help with my card or to call them directly. Thankfully, I opted to call again. I learned that no one at the branch could access the ATM; a third-party company would eventually come to address it, and my card would be destroyed due to regulations. They acknowledged ongoing issues with the ATM for the past three days. It would have been better to post a sign or disable it instead of allowing it to swallow cards. Now, I'm without a card for six months while studying in Denmark. This has been the most disappointing service and lack of understanding I’ve encountered from a bank so far. I plan to steer clear of them in the future.
