I completely agree with others who have called this service a scam. They charged me twice for a single month, refuse to take responsibility, and won't issue a refund. The terms of the contract are extremely one-sided, leaving customers with no rights. When I tried to close my account, they claimed it would take 90 days, which is ridiculous. The supposed savings were minimal—just about $4 a month over eight years—providing no real value. Plus, purchasing from them didn't even lead to more clean energy; the wind and solar farms contribute to the grid along with coal and nuclear power. So, I can't truly claim my home was powered by clean energy. It seems like just a middleman profiting from renewable energy certificates that likely hold little value. They overcharged me and made cancellation a hassle. Stay away from this service!
I echo the comments about this company being a scam. They double-billed me for a month of service, and take no responsibility and won't refund. The savings were negligible -- an average of $4/month over 8 years of service -- no value add. And buying from them didn't even generate more clean energy. The wind and solar farms generate regardless and dump their power into the grid along with coal and nuclear. So I can't say my home ran on clean power. All I can say is a middle man made a markup on some renewal energy certificates which are probably meaningless. And double-billed me and made it really tough to cancel. Avoid at all costs!
I did not find any savings with my account after opting for Arcadia. In the past 3.5 years they have provided me with $2.32 as savings (shown on my profile). I decided to cancel and the customer support sais I have been receiving 5% of the total savings from solar energy. When I asked them where that money is because I have been paying the full utility bill, I was asked to contact National grid to find my savings. I have decided to just go back to National grid because I don't trust this company
Unexpected charges when told is supposed to save money on our BGE monthly with a small percentage of that portion deducted out the BGE towards their service but instead getting two bills will come up to almost $700 combined got to a point I had to cancel my bank card to prevent them from charging for the 3 months constellation.
I want to believe I am saving money here, but I just don't see it. Billing is confusing, almost 100% of the time higher than my ConEd bill shows. Customer service takes a while to get back to you, they get defensive and can not explain the cost/billing clearly.
I signed up for this company to save via becoming a member of a local community solar farm. After over a year, I am still not a member of any community solar farm I signed up for. No sign of ever being one either. I also referred 10 people to this company where you are supposed to receive $1000. But as soon as I did that, then suddenly there are other details not completed. They change the definition of what a "referral" is so you don't get the money, but they never mention these details in their advertisements of the promotion. I spent over 4 months with a ticket opened on this issue only to get told, after all this time later, that I am not eligible to receive the money after referring 10 people. I would NEVER refer this company to anyone now. They are liars. On top of all the false advertising, I am still not a part of a community solar farm even after a year of waiting so this whole thing is a lie and a complete waste of time. total Scam - no savings and what i was told by the representative that came to my home and what happened two different outcomes. I been in my home for 10years light bill no more then $180 and after I signed up with them $399 for 31 days period. Am dissapointed on my self for allowing them to scam me.
