Argos are normally or use to be reliable. Last week we ordered a new sofa to be delivered today, 25th Nov 2025 between 7.00 - 9.00am. Up at 5.00am to get ready for new sofa, cleared every thing out the pathway ready for the new sofa. But about 7.00am I got an sms text message to say sorry sofa will not be arriving today/Tuesday. So everything had to be put back and a phone call to arrange another delivery date which is now in December 2025 (a week later) and argos offered to reimbursed/compensated a whopping £6.95 delivery cost for the inconvenience. Now I do understand people are un-well, sick with colds and flu this time of the year. I'm not blaming the delivery crew, but really you would think a company like Argos would have "stand in drivers" for those off sick but NO it's the paying customer who has to suffer. Lets hope no-one is ill next week. Or it could be after Christmas we get a new sofa. Come on argos, get your act together and have stand-in relief driver(s) to fill in for a regular driver (who maybe off sick) on a temporary or as-needed basis. Argos use to be a good shop, reliable and plenty items in stock. Nothing to do with my sofa.. I also have noticed in the last couple years argos has become more of an on-line 3rd party order supplier with very limited stocks of certain items. And they wonder why so many people are complaining or using other shops.
