Review Time
Tried to place an order for a dishwasher and wanted to know when it could be delivered as I needed to make arrangements to be in. The chatbot was useless and the phone number wouldn't put me through to a person either and was essentially just offering the same non-answers to my question as the chatbot about going to their faqs online (no answer there either). Concluded that Argos no longer provides any customer service. Cancelled the order and went elsewhere. Won't use again.
We purchased a larder fridge and undercounter freezer from Argos. The fridge arrived as scheduled; however, the freezer did not. The driver called ahead then failed to appear, followed shortly by a text claiming our property was inaccessible — despite us being home and the road having never posed any issue for delivery vehicles.
We contacted Argos to rearrange, indicated we'd call back to confirm a date, and returned to find they'd already booked the earliest available slot, which didn't suit us. We were then told delivery couldn't be rebooked until that date had passed, leaving us no option but to cancel and reorder. We did so, and were assured our property would be flagged for van delivery.
On the rescheduled date I worked from home specifically to receive the delivery — only for it to be cancelled again on the same spurious grounds. We have since cancelled entirely and will be taking our business elsewhere.
Great products and service, its a shame that the buy now pay later, interest free if you pay within the designated time is about to finish, I can see you loosing future business, I've spent £1000's but now seeing no advantage to go elsewhere.
My washing machine delivery was cancelled by the driver after receiving a text and after speaking to him with simple directions ie come up the hill and turn into our massive driveway through an open access gate the next message was he had cancelled the delivery. It took me an hour and a half eventually via chatbox to find out the lorry was too big to come through our gateway and that he can't park on the main rd (there are NO parking restrictions. No yellow lines, no zones, no signs are in place on the rd, only heavy traffic) Apparently we should have been a "special delivery" on a transit van, my crystal ball must have stopped working Oh wait, there was no mention of this when i ordered.
The inconvenience of staying off work waiting in my paid for delivery slot and losing wages as im self employed and still having no washing machine!!
I have then spent the last hour and half trying to make a complaint. You can only chatbox eventually to a human. Their customer complaints cannot be reached, the email i got from chat box re complaints doesn't exist!! My email got returned.
I should have gone to John Lewis first as they have never let me down and have a professional customer services.
So easy to search online for the product you're after , pay for the item and set a delivery date that suits you. The outdoor storage boxes was at an amazing price so I bought 2. Easy to assemble .Just what I wanted.
NO Option for vat invoice - help pages say it can be obtained from the order history page but there is no link on that page for vat invoices ??? - not option to email for copy invoice ??? - Very Poor
Purchased an under counter freezer at the end of January to be informed there would be a five week lead time and that it would be delivered by the manufacturer.
Said party has now contacted me with my delivery options which are appalling or I can pay them an additional £25 for a personalised time slot.No Saturdays though.
If I had been made aware of this before purchase I would have gone to an online supplier that was charging £10 more to include delivery with a 5 day lead time who actually delivered on a Saturday.
Went in for headphones I could order and pay for them but would have to make another trip back the next day day to pick them up !!!!!! And also all the filling in of forms on screen total waste of my time,I do not like the system as it is so won't be shopping at Argos again anytime soon, and will shop where I can just go in a shop pick up the item,pay and go ...
Retford Argos - This rating isn't so much for the store but for Bridget. She is an absolute credit to both the store and the Argos brand in general. She should lead the training in professionalism and how to communicate with customers. She is so kind, genuinely caring and extremely helpful. We have met her a few times and she has always gone above and beyond in helping us. If anybody deserves a pay rise, it's this member of staff! Her professionalism reflects so highly on the store and brand.
