Dear Argos CompanyAs a regular costumer for years shopping at this particular branch, I'm writing here to inform the company Argos about my awful experience that left me devastated and emotionally distressed, at Islington Argos, Angel Central N1 0PS which took place today on 23rd of November 2025.I've purchased at the store the VR glasses Quest 3s, my only mistake I haven't looked at the box straight away well as there were a big queue, full store with costumers and I still had shopping to do in other places. While waiting for my fish&chips takeaway, had more time to look at new purchased item. My son noticed straight away when he looked closer to the box that the box been retaped. After what immediately we gone back to the Argos store to ask for replacement or refund. And here all the absolutely shock and humiliating slandering started. Jessica the employee that served us, also the manager of all stuff there left to the storage room for some reason, with her colleagues after good 10-15minutes, came back to us to announce that "the refund is impossible as the VR glasses are coming straight from the supplier and so the replacement is not available as they had only one device",despite the recite saying clearly that the refund is available until 30th of January 2026 you know, everyone knows that.... they all 4 employees started slandering me, my good name and reputation about lying to them that the box was new without tape on it when they gave to me... that was absolutely shocking, humiliating. I asked for police to get involved to get CCTV footage that was straight above us in the corner and had a very good clear view of all the process of me purchasing the item and especially the Argos employee that brought and passed the item to me already with the tape on it( retaped). So Jessica so called herself the manager really teaching the other ones how to lie and underestimate, disrespect the costumers it's unacceptable!Thankfully to the security of Angel Center that looks like reviewed the footage and agreed on replacing the item! But because I've been acussed of lying to the Argos stuff by the same person that served me and the one that passed the retaped box I'm not letting it go, I'm willing to take legal actions anyway as the costumer's rights in UK stands clearly on my side, I'll make sure such people don't work for such well known company as Argos!The poorest service is Angel Argos branch people, if you live in Islington, you should consider Old Street branch, they are brilliant, just to let you know and know your rights!
