What scam of a business!
Several weeks ago, I dropped my upper denture, and it broke in half. These were dentures I wore every day and fit perfect. Not dentures from Aspen dental (Dentures from Affordable Dentures, highly recommend). Due to Affordable Dentures being a significant drive, I phoned Aspen dental to find out if they could repair the denture. The receptionist said they could and they had an in-house denture repair on site. Great! I scheduled appointment, provided all my insurance paperwork...we should be good to go. I thought it was a bit odd to have to fill out Health and Medical information when I arrived for my appointment, it was just a denture repair. I get called back and am immediately taken into the X-ray room. I inquired about why they needed X-rays for a denture repair...there is literally nothing to X-ray I have a full set of dentures. They reported that because I haven't been seen by them in 5 years, I needed an X-ray to check for bone loss. Ummmm....why would I go to the dentist for exams on non-existent teeth? They needed an x-ray to make sure the dentures fit me right. Again, these were the dentures I wore every day until I broke them a few weeks ago. Fairly certain I have had any significant bone loss in a few weeks. I told them that I knew exactly what they were doing...unnecessary x-rays and exam to bill my insurance company. I am fairly certain if I would have had the X-ray done, they would have told me that my old dentures didn't fit properly, and I need a new one made. That's when I told them, "Yeah, that's not going to work for me." Shame on this business to take advantage of easily coerced customers. Don't walk away from this dental office...run!
