I had this issue. My south-bridge temp was always 10 degrees higher then the mobo from my comrade. Standard around 63 degrees, where he was on ca 50. He ordered everything 4 both of us. I only had different (new gen 4 type WD) m2's under the big heat sink. So I placed more heat pads between the sb fan area & the cover. It made the temp drop drop a lot. In winter 10 degrees but now, when room temp is ca 26 degrees the fan needs to run full throttle, to keep it under 59 degrees. I contacted Asrock & 1st reply was, check yr dealer first. But I soon after that got contacted, by a service engineer, from Holland, working for Asrock. He gave me some straight answers, very good hints and also viable background info. Compared with my Asus experience, I can only say: "Chapeau" I'll stick 2 Asrock. It rocks pretty... solid. Namasté.
