5/9 cladding boards broken - misleading & untrustworthy

Ordered 9 cladding boards from Assured Composite - initially I checked with them if collection of 9 boards was okay due to high delivery costs, to which they said this was fine. Order placed and TNT organised for ~1/6th the cost. Cladding delivered with 5 out of 9 boards broken, packaging was not adequate at all for how brittle these boards are (stacked together with one layer of bubble wrap, one layer of cardboard and black wrap around them. In my opinion these should be individually wrapped). No warning of high damage rates during delivery until after I had already placed the order with them, when I asked about this they simply replied "hence the reason me saying the high damage rate which occurs and hence why our shipping costs are what they are" - basically they expect some to be damaged upon delivery and they pass this cost on to their customers by charging a high delivery fee, that to me almost admits packaging / quality fault. They will not accept responsibility for this, nor will TNT since they signed for the delivery themselves due to COVID before I could check the package.EDIT to AC's reply: you only advised no responsibility for 3rd party courier AFTER I had already checked this with you and placed the order - please re-check your own emails as you gave no warning prior to ordering so please do not falsify information. The boards should still have been appropriately packaged to provide adequate protection during transport, whether this is via yourselves or 3rd party courier. Individually packaging boards clearly is necessary due to high damage rates which you admitted yourselves. I'm also sure that having to throw away and replace 5 broken boards is a lot less environmentally friendly than a little extra packaging. There are plenty of recyclable void fill & cushioning options available.EDIT 2: AC changed their reply from “I have looked into previous correspondence and before purchasing” to “I have looked into previous correspondence (calls and emails) and before purchasing” to cover themselves – I have never spoken to them on the phone and after requesting the evidence they are “more than happy to give” 3 times they have refused. Second time they have falsified information to mislead other potential customers. Completely untrustworthy.EDIT 3: Regarding TNT price – I discussed the delivery with them and they agreed it was do-able, a longer vehicle was sent for collection at same price, 3.6m was the longest I could put when booking online. 1 month after delivery and AC now advised I should have said goods were non-stackable - again, no prior warning and vital information for when booking a courier.
