Review Time
This company gives no reminders for free trials ending, and will bill you every month without a word- then when you do remember, you can't even use the credits you paid for. Because they expire after a couple months. So they get your money for nothing, when it would cost them nothing to simply give you the streaming you already paid for. Avoid at all costs and use the available audiobook services that do NOT shadily sell EXPIRING CREDITS.
I did not like the reading of Octavia Butler's book "Parable of the Sower". Wrong voice, wrong cadence. Flat and does not convey the real vibrancy of the work. I was able to listen to eight pages before turning it off. Did you use ai for this reading?

UPDATE: I've added a star because Audiobooks.com appears to have honored my cancellation and refunded my "pending" payment. Here is what my PP acct reads now: Storytel Audiobooks USA LLC −$14.95February 3, 2026 . Canceled - AuthorizationThe temporary authorization was canceled and your payment method wasn't charged. The following is my original review before the refund was made: Beware of the "free trial". They advertise for a 30-day trial. After I perused the selections and found a couple good titles, I signed up for the free trial. I wasn't concerned by next step when it asked for my billing info b/c reputable sites offering free trials just want to verify your payment info. Sometimes charging a test fee of $1. And then refunding it. NOT in this case. Audiobooks.com charged my paypal the full monthly fee up front, holding the $ hostage (in effect) until 1st monthly payment is actually due. It is essentially a pending payment, but those funds are not available to me while it's in "pending status". So I immediately cancelled the free trial and asked for a refund. I have not heard back but we'll see. I'll have to talk with paypal and bank if I don't get my money back by tomorrow.
Disgusting. It turns out they had two accounts for me with two different emails. I only spotted it on my credit card recently they have been charging me for something I have not been using. I had cancelled one but they had another one with my other email address. Been paying for over a year of something I have not been using. I haven't been receiving bills or anything so no idea they were digging into my credit card every month for over a year for something I haven't used.
Started charging me $23 after trial was over, every month. I had no idea of this so had to cancel my credit card thinking it was scam. It started charging on the new card. Contacted support and got them to unsubscribe me and refund me. Unsubscribing was done but no refunds and all credits were gone. AFTER UNSUBSCRIBING, THEY CHARGED ME AGAIN. I RLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO GET THEM OFF MY CREDIT CARD.
I'm happy with the range of audiobooks they offer, but don't finish an audiobook each month.Their "credits" system is predatory (credits disappear after a few months, even if paid for).So is their subscription: they make it as hard as possible to cancel it.
