I ordered my Pavé Emerald-Cut Halo Diamond Ring in the summer of 2022. Since then, I've had a staggering number of problems with the product and with Aurate as a company. I've witnessed shipping snafus, promo code mishaps, wildly incorrect sizing, and losing a stone in the setting—not once, but now twice—even though the ring is less than two years old and I baby it like the most expensive thing I personally own, which, in fact, it is. I chose Aurate because it's made from harvested metals and responsibly-sourced precious gems, and because it's woman-owned. As a self-employed woman myself, that sounded great. But everything that's happened since I paid for this ring has long eclipsed that marketing point:A promo code didn't work, had to contact customer serviceThe ring shipped late, and because I was going out of town, I contacted customer service to ensure that the ring didn't sit on my front doorstep for two weeks. These calls (plural) required hours (plural) of emailing and phone calls. The ring arrived size way too large, despite my careful measurements using Aurate sizing guides (a common complaint, I see in reviews). I considered sending the ring back to be resized but didn't want to go through the trouble with the company on any other issues. I wanted to be done with it all. So I paid a private jeweler to do it. They did a great job.A tiny stone fell out of the setting a year later. I sent it to Aurate for a replacement stone and received the ring back nearly two months later. (Pic attached.)Just eight months after that, I find that yet ANOTHER stone is missing, this time from the band. (Pic attached.) And I am dreading the whole process of contacting Aurate, shipping it back and waiting for it to be shipped back to me again. And, based on the track record, I can safely predict I'll need to keep doing this 1-2 times per year whenever the remaining stones fall out. And then we'll start the whole process over again. Stands to reason, right?Like I said, this is the most expensive thing I've ever owned personally. It cost $3500: more than I've ever paid for a car. To some it will not seem like a lot of money, but to me it is. At this point, I wish I'd spent it on a couch or something, put it in my kids' college fund or even just got a cubic zirconia ring on Amazon. Because this piece of jewelry has caused more trouble than it's brought me joy. There's a sentiment you'll never see in the Aurate marketing materials.
