Overall, both my experience in the L3 and L5 HR programs with Avado were good! I really enjoyed the interactivity of the courses and how user-intuitive the VLC was. Avado strives to ensure that the virtual classroom is a safe space for discourse and discussion. I always felt comfortable sharing my views and engaging in discussions with my fellow students. My only suggestions are to a) ensure that the content is updated in line with legislative and environmental changes (there were a fair few times I found outdated content, broken links, and old case studies or examples) and b) perhaps review why there’s such turnover with the teachers. Across two programs, I had five teachers which really interrupts the flow and can lead to disengagement among the participants. Paul K and Stephen L were amazing teachers though and once my respective programs had them at the helm, the experience was fantastic! The student success team is amazing. Every single interaction I’ve had with them has been positive. They take the time to listen, follow-through, and I was always impressed by their professionalism (this is both the customer service folks and the tech support folks). I’d definitely consider other courses with Avado (especially as I’m quickly realizing HR might not be a good fit for me) and will watch with anticipation to see what avenues they’ll explore next. I would absolutely recommend Avado (and have done!) to anyone interested in upskilling through the HR courses.
