AVOID AVANTSTAY — zero empathy, zero customer service.
We had an absolutely awful experience with AvantStay. A severe snowstorm made it unsafe/impossible for us to travel to the home we booked. We reached out immediately, expecting basic understanding and reasonable customer support. Instead, we got rigid policies, unhelpful responses, and a complete refusal to work with us on any kind of refund or credit.
This wasn’t a case of “we changed our minds.” This was a legitimate weather emergency and a safety issue — and they still chose to keep our money and offer nothing meaningful in return.
The most disappointing part was how they handled it: dismissive, slow, and completely lacking empathy. If something goes wrong, you will find out quickly that AvantStay is not on your side. They take your money and hide behind policy, even when travel is dangerous.
I would never book with them again, and I strongly recommend others don’t either. There are plenty of hosts and companies who treat guests like humans — this is not one of them.
