I rented a car through Holiday Autos from Avis in Nice, France. Avis offered me an upgrade at a “special price”, which I accepted. When I returned the car, they said my receipt would be emailed to me. They never did. When I finally got the bill the upgrade charge was four times what I had agreed to. I complained to HolidayAutos, as well as Avis, but neither was willing to correct the error. I then got American Express involved, and Avis told Amex that I returned the car late and to a different city, neither of which was true. Don’t rent from Avis, and if you do, check everything before you leave the rental facility.
