Avis will make you pay extra charges!

We came to pick up our car at 5pm on Friday 9th August, 2019 and had all the paperwork. I showed the operative the 'Auto Europe' voucher and explained that I paid for extra insurance cover for the car when I initially booked the car online. He looked at the paperwork and explained that I had not taken out any insurance for the car and would have to pay 330 Euros so the car was insured. Being afraid that the car would not be insured, I payed 440 Euros, including a 110 Euro for the deposit charge.I initially hired the car with Auto Car Europe and I feel the operative at AVIS fraudulently misrepresented us into paying the extra insurance as we felt we were not covered. The operative also tried to get us to pay for the use of the sat-nav which turned out to be in-built. Do not hire through Auto-Europe and Avis - they will try and make you pay extra charges.
