We recently rented from Avis in Rapid City, SD. Shortly after driving the car, we noticed a rattle in the left rear tire. After driving the car for 3 days, the "rattle" was getting worse. While on vacation, we returned to RAP to exchange the car. Jesse Sorensen, City Manager, assisted with the exchange. During the process, we requested consideration for having to return the car and the inconvenience created by this interrupting our vacation / causing us to lose a day. Jesse stated "we didn't ask you to give up a day of your vacation". He also insinuated that he could not know if had somehow caused the problem.We felt we were doing the right thing by returning the car as the noise was getting worse. We didn't want to damage their investment, nor did we want to be stranded in later travels. The replacement car given was not equivalent to our original car and no consideration was provided to us. After being accused of damaging the car and being chastised for returning it by Jesse, we have vowed to NEVER rent from Avis again.
