I booked a car from Budget via arguscarhire (who are very helpful and care-taking) in an emergency case. I went to Stuttgart airport to pick the car up. The guy at the reception desk was kind of snooty and offering me several insurance packages which I all declined having in mind I already booked a comprehensive cover at arguscarhire - the guy was annoyed that I didn't buy a package and wanted to rent me a gps but I brought one. I went to search my car. Pro: It was a bigger and better car than I expected. Con: There was already a gps installed inside the car (so why you wanna rent me one?)! I headed off after taking a quick look at the car. To me as an amateur it looked good, I couldn't even figure out the damages that were on the document.Some days later, my mother-in-law and I returned the car with a full tank to the airport. A guy from ARWE ran up to us and pointed out a "new damage" within 10 seconds and asked us to sign the damage which would cost (the cost was also calculated within these 10 sec) 520€!! By the way, this damage was a 3cm long thin "scratch" at a plastic part near the tyre. I didn't sign. My boyfriend arrived and we went to the reception desk from AVIS as the guy from ARWE shouted at us that he is not going to discuss this with us. The same guy from my pick-up at the reception desk could "not understand why you are upset and angry" (quote) and would rather tell us stories about how much money a car costs and asking rhethorical questions like "Would you buy a car with that damage?" And I said yes because there was no damage. Furthermore, he accused us of not taking the insurance packages. He said we have to contact the customer service and that the damage report is already in my mailbox. On our way back I checked my mails, no damage report. And I checked my contract again: I DO have an insurance. A phonecall to Arguscarhire confirmed that the insurance will take over the 520€. Why wouldn't the receptiondeskguy help us to solve our doubts and wasn't more pro-active?I waited 3 days for the damage report - as it didn't arrive I called the customer service from Budget because the money was already taken from my credit card! They told me I had to wait another 10 days, so I asked if they could at least send me the invoice. This happend inmediately. I went on holidays and after 20 days there was no damage report, yet. So I called again - waited quite a while. Aaaaand surprise, surprise: There was no damage report (because actually there was no damage, I guess). The guy at the phone was nice and told me they will drop this case and refund me the 520€. Due to this and having my money back I give 3 stars but will never ever book again with AVIS or Budget!
