Recommended a chair that left me in pain, wouldn't exchange it.

I was advised to seek a chair at the Back2 shop by my chiropractor back in 2008, as I had been suffering lower back pain. My company willingly agreed to pay for "whatever I needed", and I went to visit the Back2 shop in the west end of London. The sales assistant advised me to raise my desk, put my monitor on a stand, and order a Haag Capisco chair with back and headrest. I was also advised that it might take a few weeks for my midsection to get used to the saddle-style chair but that it would be very good for my back.

Although sitting in the chair in the shop for a few minutes presented no problems, sitting in it for an entire day once it was delivered proved very uncomfortable. I soon removed the headrest so that I could reverse the chair every hour or so, spending half my time leaning forward on the backrest (a position described in the chair's manual). Nonetheless, I persevered for a month before calling Back2 and telling them I was not getting on well with their recommendation.

Back2 informed me that it was too late: I had kept the chair longer than 14 days, so I was stuck with it. And having just asked my company to spend hundreds of pounds on it, I was obviously in no position to ask them to spend hundreds more on another so that I could seek out something more suitable.

I suffered with the Capisco for a year, before the backrest finally gave up the ghost. I had the chair couriered back to the shop, and pleaded with Back2 to replace the broken chair with another model rather than repair the unsuitable Capisco, but they were not interested in helping me.

Then I was told that Back2 would not even deliver the repaired result of their initial misdiagnosis back to me - I have had to pay to have the damned thing redelivered! In the end I gave up and bought a cheap 2nd-hand chair from another manufacturer on eBay.
