I was in therapy with a therapist who is registered with a professional body through an online platform. During this time, I faced major ethical violations, including inappropriate religious comments about my suicidal thoughts and an abrupt end to our sessions after a disagreement, without proper clinical handling. I had documented evidence of these issues in written exchanges. I contacted the professional body, and they acknowledged the therapist's breach of the Code of Ethics but refused to investigate my complaint, claiming my location was outside the European Union. The treatment I received felt discriminatory. I reached out again, explaining that the therapist works internationally, and suggested they either prevent him from practicing globally if they won't address complaints from outside the EU or clearly state this limitation on their website. They did not respond and chose to remain silent.
