Five years ago, I went through a complaints process regarding a therapist I saw intermittently. She was emotionally and psychologically abusive, quickly dismissing my concerns and attributing all my problems to my parents' divorce, which I had stated was not an issue for me. Years later, I was diagnosed with severe OCD, which explained many of my struggles. The therapist's fixation on my parents led her to miss this diagnosis. After years of confusion, she escalated her behavior, screaming at me over the phone and making false claims about my mental state. Despite evidence from a lecturer contradicting her claims, the professional body did not investigate. I felt victimized and terrified of her potential actions if I pursued legal action. The body supported her, allowing the abuse to continue, and I now believe many others may have suffered similarly. My experience led to significant mental health issues, and the lack of accountability from the professional body was appalling.
