Bailies Coffee Roasters was a trusted source we'd previously been quite happy with - no shrinkflation - still 250g bags of beans, no skimflation - quality beans and blends, no more inflation than is reasonable in these times (and no exaggerated 'use-by-date' of a year or more), and quality customer service. Also, along with the above, to be on our 'list' of preferred sources Bailies were pretty much 'roast-&-post', meaning that the beans we received were roasted no more than a day or two from being posted to us. It has been awhile since we last ordered from Bailies, but for Christmas, for ourselves and others, we'd put in an order for 5 bags of beans. Here's where two stars dropped off this review - the beans that arrived had been roasted 10 days previous to arriving here. And, printed on their bags are these generally accepted words of wisdom: "Best within 3 weeks"... The third star was lost to a lack of response of any kind after we'd immediately written Bailies with our concern about this - nadda! Dim byd! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Update - 06/12/2024: We've heard back, with some understandable explanations for their 'slips', and the kindness of their Christmas Blend - 'tis the season! So, in appreciation and hope our disappointment was a fluke, and in response to their kind addition to our coffee pleasures, this has gone up two stars to four, and I've no doubt that when things settle down and we order again it will be a 5 star service.
