I have taken two trekking trips with Banbanjara, and unfortunately both experiences were disappointing due to poor communication and last-minute changes.Trip 1 (Kudremukh > Kumara Parvatha):We originally booked Kudremukh, but on the last day it was changed to Kumara Parvatha. We left our rooms early to reach the pickup point by 7 PM, and while already on the metro we received a message at 6:30 PM saying the pickup time had been shifted to 9 PM.The bus provided was in very bad condition with almost no suspension. The trek was operated by Native Trekkers, the guides were good and professional. However, for Kumara Parvatha there is only one water source near the starting point, and this critical information was shared only when we had almost reached the trek start, leaving us no way to carry enough water for the 14 km up-and-down trek.Trip 2 (Netravati > Kudremukh):Again, we booked Netravati, and once again the trek was changed at the last moment, this time to Kudremukh. The pickup time issue was exactly the same as before: informed at 6:30 PM that the pickup had shifted from 7 PM to 9 PM, after we had already left our rooms.They provided tents for sleeping, but there was no insulation from the cold ground, which affected many people. I asked for an extra blanket due to the cold, but the request was denied. There is also a fixed hotel tie-up for the last-day lunch, which we are required to pay for separately, and the food served was consistently tasteless.Additionally, the Banbanjara website is very poorly designed. You cannot easily view booking details, and there are multiple bugs.Overall:The trekking guides were good and often compensated for Banbanjara’s operational issues. However, the frequent last-minute trek changes, poor communication, uncomfortable travel arrangements, and lack of transparency make the experience frustrating. When you book with Banbanjara, it feels like they decide where you go, not you.I would strongly recommend booking with a more reliable trek organizer.
