In summary, do not fly with Bangkok Air!! We used Jetstar, Nok Air and Scoot and had no problems at all in Thailand. At the time of booking our flights the reviews weren't too bad but it seems things have gone downhill the last few months and we unfortunately were caught up in the bad side of this airline. They were late to commence boarding, then when the doors closed there was a mechanical problem so we sat there for awhile then they decided to cancel the flight and kicked us off, we watched the luggage be taken off. By this stage my stress levels were starting to rise as we had a connecting flight later that night but I thought to myself its ok there's 4-5hrs to spare in Bangkok that's plenty of time..... we were told to wait at Phuket airport until staff were informed of the next step. After 15mins or so I let staff know we needed to swap flights asap to make our connection. Another 20mins or so went by and they'd found another flight for us, great news (I thought at the time) and boarding time was straight away on the other side of the terminal. Then things worsened again, the 7 of us (including young kids) rushed to the gate but the plane wasn't even there yet... this new flight ended up 1 hour behind schedule!! Our transit window in Bangkok was narrowing fast! The plane eventually landed in Bangkok and we had 30mins to get our bags, leave the domestic terminal and check into the international flight. Things worsened more, they hadn't put our 6 bags on the new flight!! Staff were waiting at baggage claims for us and we were given a form with a case number on it and we rushed to our next flight (made it with 10mins to spare!).Whilst waiting for our next flight to go we checked the Samsung Air Tags and our bags were sitting at Bangkok Airport the whole time!!!! It took 4 days for them to be delivered to our house and when checking the tracking again our bags were not sent direct to Brisbane but instead went via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific over 2 flights. By the time we received the bags 2 of them were completely destroyed!! 1 was brand new and the other was 9 years old and had nothing wrong with it even though it had been on many trips! Bangkok Airways are claiming they don't compensate damaged baggage which is a lie! I was able to provide them a link to their own webpage outlining compensation as well as 4 screenshots from other parts of their own webpage. I will be fighting them on this as it's not good enough & they need to be held accountable.
