I was reached out to after accepting an initial offer for discounted holidays. When I attempted to book a week away, I was asked to pay £620, while the online price was £640. By this point, I had already paid over £1500. Each time they called, I was encouraged to upgrade my package, totaling £2500. Today, they called again for another upgrade. Previously, I was told my full package allowed access to various resorts, but when I tried to book, I was transferred to a travel agent who offered minimal discounts. I confronted the caller today about the scam and refused to pay more. He claimed I was in the minority of clients and that not paying would hinder my booking ability. I expressed my dissatisfaction, having spent all that money thinking I’d get multiple holidays, which is crucial since my partner has dementia and traveling can be challenging.
