What a huge disappointment! Architecture is big and brutal and obviously designed many years ago. After having waited for 10 years we get a crammed airport, security was a mess. Then obligatory entrance through a supermarket, that makes further walking into a timewasting experience. If I would bring my parents who would need walking assistance, they would have no chance get through here. I felt luck to find coffee! After 10 minutes walking I found a small coffebar. Food selection is mostly cheap fastfood. Otherwise lots of closed shops even if its summer and lots of people in the airport. Lucky to find electricity for the phone. Groundstaff wouldnt let me on the plane, if did not have a plastic cover on my coffee(!!) where did that rule come from? On top of that more than 1,5 hours extra waiting in the plane, because the airport - in the middle of the travel season - has 4 (four!) people taking care of luggage. I travel a lot and found many nice airports in Europe, and have travelled more than 200 times from Tegel and Schönefeld. Which despite its lacks I already miss!
