Disastrous experience at the airport

We arrived at the airport with more than two hours to catch our flight, yet the passport control was a complete mess. The area was severely understaffed, and the lines hardly moved. Despite the urgency, staff showed no sense of urgency. When we politely mentioned our imminent flight, we were met with claims that there was nothing they could do. Their demeanor was rude and dismissive. After finally moving forward, we ended up behind someone with passport issues, causing further delays. An officer wrongly stated that a passport stamp was missing, leading to an unnecessary hold-up. Consequently, we missed our flight and incurred hundreds in expenses for new tickets and additional fees — all avoidable. This was among the worst airport experiences I've encountered. Passport control is poorly managed, and the staff are unhelpful and indifferent. If you value your time and peace of mind, it’s best to avoid this airport or arrive much earlier.

Unacceptable wait times at border control

The wait times at border control are absurd and seem to be deliberately discriminatory against travelers. Germany's once-stellar reputation for efficiency has completely disappeared. Visitors arriving have a very negative impression of the country — shame on the airport.

The most frustrating airport experience

We arrived at the airport with over two hours before our flight, but the passport control was a complete disaster. The area was severely understaffed, and the lines barely moved. Despite the urgency, the staff showed no sense of urgency whatsoever. When we politely explained that our flight was about to leave, we received repeated responses that there was nothing they could do. Their attitude was rude and dismissive, making it clear they didn’t care. After finally moving forward, we were stuck behind someone with passport issues, causing further delays. To make matters worse, an officer incorrectly claimed a passport stamp was missing, adding yet another unnecessary hold-up. As a result, we missed our flight and ended up spending hundreds on new tickets, a taxi to another airport, and extra parking fees — all of which could have been avoided. This was one of the worst airport experiences I have ever faced. Passport control is mismanaged, and the staff are unhelpful and indifferent, unwilling to assist passengers even when flights are about to leave. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid this airport or arrive much earlier than you think you should.

The worst airport in the country

The worst airport in the country. Don't be late at Terminal 2 — you've been warned. Security took over 30 minutes, and then they refused boarding at the gate while other passengers were still in the lounge. I had to go back to check-in, fortunately, I got on the next flight for an extra fee, but it took 40 minutes through security again. I arrived at the gate just as they were boarding, and the same staff let me through.

Prepare for language barriers at security

I had a very poor experience with security at Terminal 2. A rude staff member, who only spoke the local language, patted down my boots and asked to see the soles. She was visibly disgusted when I tried to show her. Although I speak some of the local language, I misunderstood her request. I felt very uncomfortable. If you’re not willing to communicate in English, you shouldn’t work in airport security.

The worst airport I've ever experienced!

We had the unfortunate experience of passing through this terminal while returning from abroad. From the start, the security staff were rude and unhelpful. There was only one food outlet available, and when we ordered, there were only four small tables to sit at. At the gate, there were hardly any seats, forcing most passengers to sit on the floor while waiting for a delayed flight. For a capital city, having a terminal like this with unfriendly staff is shameful. To top it off, the staff at the departure gate wanted us to stand outside in the rain while closing the door. I will never use this airport again!

Delays at border control led to missed flight

We were held up at border control because the staff was dealing with a passenger issue, and only one person was handling non-EU travelers. This caused significant delays. By the time we got through, our flight had already closed its gate, resulting in extra costs for new tickets and accommodation. The service was terrible, and the staff were unhelpful and rude. I will not return.

Long wait at passport control

I arrived at the airport at 1 PM and spent over an hour in line for passport control. This is absolutely unacceptable. Only two staff members were checking passports. Such treatment should be reciprocated for all travelers arriving in the country.

A truly terrible airport experience

This airport is truly terrible! Unfriendly staff, endless lines for check-in and security, long distances to walk, and poor assistance when needed (my mother nearly missed her flight waiting for a wheelchair). Unfortunately, I have to fly frequently now, which I used to enjoy, but now I dread it. If possible, avoid this airport and opt for alternatives — a train ride is much better than waiting in long queues.

Hygiene issues in airport bathrooms

While the check-in area of the airport is decent, I have never encountered such dirty and disgusting airport bathrooms. The gate setup forces people to block the walkways while lining up.
