Wow we couldn't have wished for more on our 16 night tour of Sri Lanka. Fabulous hotels for the whole holiday, each independent and different. Suri our driver was simply the best, ensuring that we experienced everything Sri Lanka had to offer. Nothing was too much trouble. We did temples, Budhas, whale watching, train rides, tea picking in Plantations, saw elephants, sloths, monkeys, lions, leopards and crocodiles on our safari. Food was all fabulous and no yummy troubles for all 3 of us. No hesitation in recommending Bespoke for your holidays plans, and after travelling with them for a 2nd time, would certainly travel with them again.
What a very special trip Sanjay organized for us to Sri Lanka. We felt that all the hotels had been chosen with care, not only with sustainability in mind but also those that valued their staff and in some cases supported their local village. Our rooms provided a luxurious haven as we travelled around the country.Each had some special feature; a lagoon, an organic garden, a spectacular view or a beautiful pool.We were driven with care and expertly guided by Priyantha Rajapaksha. He gave us a great insight into his beautiful country by endlessly answering our questions and showing us aspects of Sri Lankan we might never have seen otherwise. While we were away Sanjay was very proactive sorting out a couple of small issues. We felt that for the level of personal service we benefitted from that this holiday was fairly priced.
What a fantastic trip Bespoke and Sanjay organised for our honeymoon. From the start to finish the whole experience was faultless, Sanjay listened to what we wanted, what we liked to do, etc and planned a dream trip the hotels were fabulous, the excursions spectacular, and the service faultless. We organised our own flights and when they were changed literally last minute Sanjay and the team still managed to accommodate us and make everything work faultlessly. Our driver Prya was the perfect guide knowledgeable, observant, polite, flexible and a great guy. Now what most people think is what about the price? well that was very reasonable as well and worth every penny. Thanks guys a you made a dream come true and a memory that will last forever.
What a great trip!! Have been many places in Asia but Sri Lanka might be my favorite. I did a solo tour with an awesome driver (Kalana) and Sanjay gave me the best itinerary for the short amount of time I had to travel. The hotels were perfect, I would have hand-picked them myself. The tour also gave me some free time. Such a great balance of things to see! I would not have changed a thing with this trip. Thank you Sanjay! Looking forward to taking another trip.
We have just got back from a brilliant 2 week holiday in Sri Lanka. Although the country is in the grips of deep unrest and chaos the sri Lankan people were incredibly kind, helpful and went out of their way to make our holiday a truly fantastic experience. We agree with all the previous reviewers wonderfully positive comments about Bespoke Travel and how Sanjay does the absolute best job of organising your holiday, he really is dedicated. Thank you so much Sanjay, we'll be back!
Sanjay arranged an excellent tour of Sri Lanka for us in Jan-Feb 2022. We spoke about the trip when we returned and I wanted to congratulate him on all his arrangements as he was spot on. Sanjay had carefully listened to our needs and arranged for our luxury tailor-made tour with a good mixture of culture, history, people, food, wildlife and nature and beaches. We had a very good and flexible driver/history & nature guide and stayed in both local and deluxe hotels with surprise upgrades and complimentary meals. Also wanted to commend flying with Emirates as this was another treat........
From the initial contact with Sanjay I was very comfortable with his outlook and attention to detail in managing to pull together our rough plan to tour Sri Lanka. We had video chats to confirm the final itineraries and the documents he sent were very helpful during the holiday, we soon filled it with notes on the amazing places we visited.Our guide Buwaneka Dissanayake provided us with very detailed guidance to the areas we visited as well as masses of local information and background on the island and it’s people, the itinerary was well paced and the cooking with Ranjit at Ella was an amazing experience. The hotels were all we could ask for and the whole two weeks ran like clockwork, we would certainly ask Sanjay to organise our next trip once we can travel back.
This was our fourth trip organised by Sanjay. The first two in India went off like clockwork. The third in Sri Lanka coincided with the start of the Covid Lockdown and the draconian measures imposed the the Sri Lankan government. Getting us home was the clear priority of both Sanjay and the team on the ground and we felt extremely well taken of in very difficult circumstances. Covid having retreated, we planned to resume our trip. Sanjay had arranged for all the hotels we had had to cancel on our last trip to hold their bookings open for us for over 2 years. We planned an enhanced itinerary adding more things to our original plans. We arrived in great excitement only to discover Sri Lanka sliding into political, social and economic chaos. Brilliant timing we thought. However the team on the ground and Sanjay plus all the hotel and guiding staff looking after us did just that...they looked after us to the point where we had to specifically go out to look for evidence of the troubles Sri Lankans were suffering. We were looked after superbly and the Sri Lankans we met on the street or on the beach...however humble their circumstances, went out of their way to assure us that we would not be subjected to any difficulty because of their internal problems. As a result we had three blissful weeks in a beautiful and incredibly varied country with wonderful kind people and our programme went ahead as planned with only minimal (and entertaining)disruption. Sanjay was in constant contact with team on the ground who in turn were in constant contact with our driver......we could not have felt better looked after in what news reports would have indicated were challenging circumstances. We will be planning our next trip soon secure in the knowledge that whatever problems get thrown at the trip we will be extraordinarily well looked after.

He’s mindful of the amount of time spent on the road, suggesting ideal and interesting places to stop to break up any long journeys and very astute in matching you with a chauffeur that compliments your personality and sense of humour; with trips like this you are with him for a good portion of each day so it’s essential to get this right, an important detail that he takes very seriously. Everything he recommends is from personal experience, he’s stayed at the properties, knows the managers and they all speak very highly of Sanjay, it’s not just the travel company they know, it’s him. He really is planning your trip from personal experience, not from a glossy brochure.In all my days of planning trips, and there’s been a few, I’ve never known anyone get so excited about a trip he’s not taking !!
