Our experience with Better Life, the distributor of Smeg, has been incredibly disappointing and the worst we have encountered . We invested in a very expensive kitchen appliance package, including a top-of-the-line Smeg oven, microwave, and other electronics. Shockingly, almost every appliance has broken within the first year.The most unacceptable issue was the Smeg oven door literally falling off after just one year of normal use. This was the most premium model offered — supposedly the best in quality. Better Life is now refusing to take responsibility because the warranty has just expired, but let’s be very clear:A luxury Smeg oven at this price should NEVER fail in one year. This is a quality defect, not normal wear and tear.We have owned far less expensive ovens for many years without a single issue. To pay a premium and have major failures so quickly — only to be told “nothing can be done” — is unacceptable.Better Life’s after-sales service is unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to stand behind the products they sell. We deeply regret purchasing Smeg appliances through them.Avoid Better Life and avoid Smeg — the price is luxury, but the durability and customer support are absolutely not.
