I ate at Bill's in Street, but I would never eat there again, or recommend it to others.I ordered the Sea Bass, which was incredibly salty, but I was hungry so ate it, although wishing I had chosen to eat next-door, or any another number of restaurants in the area. When I came to pay, I offered a £20 note, and was only at this point told that they do not take cash, so I had no choice but to pay by credit card... I politely explained to the young waitress, who was very polite and pleasant, that it was not her fault but, the fish was incredibly salty, and she offered to pass this feedback to the Manager. The Manager came over and said that he wished I had informed them of this previously, and offered me a free beer, as compensation. I had already had tap water with my meal, which was refreshing on such a hot day, and besides this I do not drink alcohol. The overdose of salt in the fish did not help quench my thirst. The Manager offered me a free drink voucher, but once again, I could not see myself returning to this restaurant, so I declined this and left this with him. Finally, I have checked, and wish I had stuck to my guns in relation to preferring to pay cash (or what is 'legal tender'), and have discovered, 'a restaurant cannot refuse a cash payment for a meal you have already eaten. While it's legal for businesses to refuse cash in general, once you've consumed the meal, a debt is created, and the restaurant is obligated to accept payment, including cash, for that debt.'Awful food and they only take cards, when I went to pay and offered cash, they said it's their policy, My policy in future is not to go there....
