We recently purchased a hex dumbbell set 5-25KG with a stand and picked up from the Yaxley storage unit. The owner was so brilliant and re organised his day to ensure he was available for collection at a time that suited us. The quality of the products is unmatched. Great quality materials, easy to build stand with all tools included and at a very reasonable price (much cheaper than other companies we originally looked at online). Would highly recommend!
I ordered some dumbbell racks and I can say BlackbearFitness dumbbell racks are top-tier. They’re extremely sturdy, well-built, and clearly designed with real gym use in mind. The racks hold dumbbells securely, make loading and unloading easy, and keep the training area clean and organized. The finish is durable and they can handle heavy daily use without wobbling or wear. If you’re outfitting a commercial gym or a serious home setup, these racks are absolutely worth it.
I bought the calf machine, budget price, feels OLDSCHOOL in the best possible way, just WHAM, hits the calves, transports you back to golden era machines, simple, effective, no nonsense. Customer service, first rate. Delivery, fast. Highly recommend, and will be my go-to fitness store now for myself and for my clients. WHAM!
I sent two emails on Friday 16th Jan asking whether the B1 folding rack came with spotter arms. I did not receive a reply. It was still a decent price without so I purchased 11am on Saturday 17th Jan. The website states shipping will be on the same day as the order or at worst the following business day. It is now Tuesday 20th Jan at time of writing and I still have no dispatch notification, or any tracking info. I sent another email on Monday 19th Jan asking for an update when the rack would be shipped - no reply. I purchased from the company because of the price but also because of their story on their website and was very happy with my decision until I decided to read some online reviews (which admittedly I should have read prior to purchase). It was here I was fairly alarmed to read repeated 1 star reviews for poor customer service, damaged deliveries, missing items etc. I immediately began to try and recover the funds through the payment provider as I have no faith that the item will ever be dispatched. It is a huge shame as amongst the bad reviews are a lot of great ones praising the company - I am not sure where this disparity comes from. I don’t know if they have a bricks and mortar shop location which is doing well but the online is struggling or what. Either way a great shame as I liked what the company said they did and how they did it. And the price was great too, probably too good in hindsight. EDIT: thank you for your response. I will await the item arriving and amend my review accordingly. Thank you.EDIT 2: I am going to leave my review as is. Items arrived today which as far as I can understand on all of the info available on your website is longer than advertised. The items have all arrived in Rival Strength packaging and the rack is clearly the Rival Strength J1 rack. This is bizarre as it is actually a few quid cheaper to buy it on rival strength (£285) vs black bear (£289). All of the cross posts linking the wall fixings to the uprights have multiple chips in the powder coating, as do the red and silver fixings pins. All of the tube metal has internal rust and the pull up bar and one of the wall bars has surface rust. Otherwise it appears to be pretty sturdy. It all just seems very odd why a different company is selling rival strength gear, as other reviews have noted items turning up from Amazon etc which weren’t what were advertised on the black bear website. I can’t quite figure out if you’re an outlet for rival strength gear that doesn’t quite meet quality assurance as per the chips in the powder coating, so you can still sell it and preserve the reputation of rival or if you are drop shipping items. Either way it’s just strange. I looked at the about us page of your company and was quite happy to spend my money here but now it has arrived, with the damage (which I can accept as it is just gonna be a garage rack), and it is clearly another companies items, I just feel like I’ve been misled and wish I’d gone elsewhere to begin with. I can’t be bothered to package it up and try and send it back as other reviews note a poor customer service experience when trying this so I’ll just cut my losses and chalk it up as a learning experience.
