Product is not bad Customer support is from the 80's!

Sorry this is TLDR but its worth a read based on the support Blink do not offer! READ BEFORE BUYING I purchased 4 cameras and an extra sync module to increase storage space and separate out the 2 areas I wanted to cover. One being the front of the house and the other the rear garage. Both use the same WIFI network, and I placed an AP out in the garage that also runs another few items. And extends coverage into the garden! One sync unit works fine and the other one has been working fine but has recently started randomly dropping its connection to the AP and therefore I lose the cameras! I’ve rebooted it several times and it then starts to work again. (I understand if the internet goes down, I will lose connection and I will sometime reboot my internal network resulting in the same). I contacted support for suggestions as the fault seem intermittent and does not coincide with my network logs or the other sync module connected to the same 2G network, they connected and looked at the logs and they said they couldn’t see a problem, and I agreed to reset it as instructed, the problem still exists and its as if the unit crashes, and will sometimes allow access to one camera but not the other or none at all. They said it was my network going down! I get that will drop the connection, however the network is only down of late due to me rebooting the AP because the sync module is not contactable. This does not solve the issue, if the connection was dropped and the sync module didn’t have this issue to would just reconnect when the network is back up (same as any other devices do and the same as the other sync unit does when I reboot the network) Blink CS have spent more man hours trying to tell me that the sync unit is not at fault and that its my network but can’t explain why the other unit is fine! I suggested for the small cost to them they should just send out another unit (and I'm happy to send the other one back, but they have just closed the ticket as solved!) There is no real support just standard tech support have you restarted it etc…. So now I'm left with a dodgy sync unit that is not useable as to connect remotely when it’s dropped its connection is impossible and you need a physical presence to power cycle it, which is great when I'm away from home! The other issue is that the batteries in those 2 cameras have not faired well in the 6 months they have been in use (I wasn’t expecting to get 2 yrs. like they state as it’s all related to how much use they have and how they are setup), but I suspect that due the Sync unit being non contactable they have used a fair bit of power trying to establish a connection to it. Yet the front of the house cameras that get more traffic are still going strong! Also, the order new batteries feature and to alert you they are getting low did not happen either both cameras just stopped. I requested a pack of batteries and a new sync unit considering all the time I have spent fault finding this but didn’t even get an apology from support and had to chase the for any action at all! Considering they are owned by Amazon I would have thought that the service would have been a lot better which was why I chose these over Ring. All in all they are not bad when they work, bit laggy in live view, the picture quality is not bad even at night, the sound isn’t too bad either. The video viewer in the app is a bit clunky as pausing or rolling back through a video is not easy and it would be nice if the upload download could be simplified. Still don’t understand why there is not an app or web portal that could be used on a PC (I understand that it would eat batteries but perhaps is powered by usb then a live feed wall from each cameras could be achieved maybe via a firestick so I could hang an old TFT screen on the wall with a firestick and use it as a security viewer. It works on an echo show! I would think carefully before you purchase these and probably only do so on Prime Day dues to the low prices because if there is a problem it will be yours to solve or just buy another one once outside of the 30 days return period as Blink clearly do not want to know and have not read the Amazon book on good customer service especially when the RRP is £29 and the mark up is most likely high the cost to replace is minimal to keep a customer happy! Things do fail and that’s fine but how it is solved is key, the days of spending $200 in man hours to fight the customer should be long gone, I'm sure this stems from some customers taking liberties but for the few that do surely it’s better to keep the customers who are most likely to buy more or tell a friend or not write a review like this, happy in the long run! It's funny how one module is fine and the other is not! My network must really hate that one module! Queue the reactive response to make it look like they are trying to help and save face! Or maybe not!
