I worked as a contractor for six months with a certain agency. Firstly, this agency does not provide Digital PR as advertised. Instead, it focuses on guest posting and purchasing links from vendors, which they market as 'editorial' or 'digital PR.' Links that cost $200 are repackaged and sold to clients for around $700. There is nothing earned or editorial about this. They manage to operate this way because they use English names and claim to be US-based, despite having no actual US team members; the staff is primarily from the Philippines, Balkans, India, and similar regions. Additionally, the owners exhibit megalomaniac tendencies, showing distrust towards foreign workers and viewing contractors as expendable. They prioritize cash flow over the wellbeing of their team. When financial issues arise, they quickly cut off contractors while deflecting responsibility for their poor management decisions. Moreover, they have relocated their operations to an offshore location, which complicates any potential legal action for contract violations. For instance, I was terminated without notice and unpaid, despite the contract outlining termination procedures. They are aware that legal action is unlikely. We billed a client for two months without delivering any links because our link vendor was unresponsive. It was concerning to see our sales and operations representative misleading the client, claiming that we had submitted requests to notable journalists and were awaiting their curated content. In reality, they could not secure any quality links until I introduced them to a new provider. If you consider purchasing a $7k link package from this agency, be aware that it is actually worth about $1k from a direct source.
