Visited the store in Hounslow this morning. It was busy but is it really cheaper than other stores? It is somewhat congested and some staff were filling shelves with the help of cages blocking the passage which caused my daughter a slight injury as she tried to pass through and the staff pulled on the cage. She did apologise, but really in such little space they should avoid cages during opening hours. I seen one lady walking to the checkouts with 4 tubs of Quality Street thinking she was getting a bargain. Had she shopped In Asda just a short walk away she would have saved £1.60 and had she made the same purchase in Tesco she would have saved £1.76. Celebrations were also found to be cheaper in Home Bargains. I was purchasing a box of Dairy Box The Winter Collection. The price tag was showing £5.00. I wanted to be sure that the price was the best so I went on Google and found that the price was £5.00 in Asda as well so I went ahead to purchase the item. I paid my bill and looked at my receipt and found that I had been charged £7.50 for the Dairy Box. I raised a query with the lady at the checkout and my daughter went along with her to check the price tag. The item weight on the price tag was lower than the weight shown on the item so the staff's argument was that the one we had selected was different. However, the only other prices displayed near this product were £5 or less. I told them that it was £5 in Asda and my daughter tried to convince them that we should have it at the price as there was no other price indicated. As that may have involved calling a Manager who would take his/her time to come I decided to get a refund and walk over to Asda. In Asda the same product was displaying a price tag of £5.50 but when we checked out I was charged £5 as it showed on the internet. I would recommend those who have purchased Dairy Box from B&M and paid £7.50 instead of the displayed price of £5 go back promptly and get a refund. Asda is just a walk away. Goodbye B&M, I do not expect to walk in there again! 18/12/2025: Customer Service have advised me on here to contact them, What is the point? All the information is on here, They can check their cameras. The time was 12:17:19. They are not going to bring me a free box of chocolates if I contact them. I am providing the public a better service by making them aware of what is going on in B&M and helping them get back the money that has been incorrectly taken from them.
