My first hearing aids lasted 7 years without any problems but since I was fitted with replacement aids I have worn one of them for roughly 14 days in 18 months. I had initial problems with constant buzzing and interference made worse when eating or speaking, the hearing aid was sent for repair but returned to exactly the same problems. It was decided to replace the hearing aid so a photograph was taken of the previous old one (very technical!) and they were requested to make one the same. That’s been returned to me but once again I’m unable to use it because it’s made my ear very sore, it’s not fitting correctly. I made a formal complaint before receiving the ill fitted aid and was told someone would deal with this personally, I was offered wax guard, which I’ve received and a dryer which hasn’t materialised. A week ago I sent another complaint because I have a very expensive hearing aid that is just sat in a drawer and unsurprisingly I’ve not received a response probably because I’ve now asked for compensation. The whole thing has been extremely upsetting, I’ve actually been in tears because I struggle to hear in restaurants or anywhere that’s got background noise. Just sat in a group with friends I miss conversations and the television is turned up to an unacceptable level for my husband. I would never recommend this company to anyone again because I would hate anyone to have the same problem as I have had. A friend the other day said “you should have gone to specsavers”. I think she’s absolutely correct.
