I have been a fan of Bosch for many years, and I have recently ordered new kitchen appliances all Bosch, but yesterday's experience has shattered my confidence in the brand and I wish I could cancel my orders.
We have a washer dryer, in warranty, that would not power on. I booked an engineer via warranty support and he arrived exactly when I asked for... but then the service nosedived.
The Engineer arrived and said his system did not have my call as a warranty call, he was expecting to invoice me. After a swift check of the machine he said that the drum was worn out, but the machine would not turn on because of some water that had been spilt on the lid of machine. Its true there is staining that would indicate that at some time an eggcup full of water had been on the lid. It was all dried up, and dusty and had been there months.
He then said that the lids are not water tight and that, despite the obvious age of the spill, the water had now dropped onto fuse board and shorted it out. So it was all our fault, not covered, and to fix the machine we would have to pay 40% more than a new one!
I have plenty of photos that prove that the water did not penetrate the lid... but Bosch don't care.
I was promised a huge discount on a new machine as some compensation (it was in warranty after all)... that huge discount turned out to be less than ANY retailer in the UK is offering. And to cap it off I was told that I was "lucky" as I wan't going to be charged for the Warranty call out!
All in all, Warranty is scam and Bosch seem to be determined NOT to honour it. The engineer even advised buying 3rd party insurance if I really want cover.
